Description

Sunnmore Pepper Mackerel is excellent as a sandwich or as a topping in a fresh salad. Mackerel is notoriously rich in Omega 3. In Norway, smoked mackerel or mackerel in tomato sauce is a traditional breakfast dish, although it's a delicious snack at any time of day. A can of pepper mackerel covers far more than the daily recommended amount of Omega-3. The oil is of the highest quality, which highlights the delicious, light-smoked flavor.

Ingredients: fillets of Mackerel (weighed 87%), rapeseed oil, salt, spices (incl. mustard and onion), yeast extraction and antioxidant: E330. Omega 3 fatty acids: 7,4g / 100g.Net Wt 5 oz (150g)

How a Super Bowl-Damaged Package Led to My Favorite Pantry Staple

    Terry P. 6th Feb 2026

So my box of Sunnmore Peppered Mackerel shows up, and it looks like the delivery person was practicing their Hail Mary passes for the big game. I'm talking dented tins, a couple of them looking pretty sad. Total bummer, right? Nope. That dented tin was a blessing in disguise. I popped one open thinking, "Well, let's just get this over with." HOLY COW. My jaw literally dropped. I have eaten a lot of canned mackerel in my day, and this is not that. This is something else entirely. First of all, the smell. Or should I say, the lack of smell? No blast of that weird, fishy ocean funk. Just this amazing peppery, herby aroma. The taste is even wilder. It's so clean and fresh-tasting, and the seasoning is just… right. It’s got flavor, real flavor—not just a salty punch to the face. You can actually taste the mackerel, and it's good. Here’s the real test: I convinced my wife to try a tiny bite. She is not a canned fish person. She took it, chewed thoughtfully, and her eyes got wide. "Okay," she said. "Okay, wow. That's actually delicious." VICTORY. We’ve been having it on toast with avocado all week. She’s a convert. And the price? Don't even get me started. I was paying way more for lesser quality stuff online. This feels like I’ve discovered a secret hack. Even with the dents, the fillets inside were perfect. Big, meaty chunks that didn't just turn to mush. I’ve tossed it in salads, mixed it into pasta, eaten it straight from the can like a goblin… it’s fantastic every time. Seriously, Sunnmore, what’s your secret? This stuff is next-level. My pantry will never be without it again. Do yourself a favor and try it. Just maybe ask for some extra bubble wrap if it's football season
